Tarot has a rich history and following in many cultures, from its origins in 14th Century Europe to its modern worldwide incarnation online. The earliest Tarot card decks were beautiful, hand-painted works of art, while the latest decks can be as flashy, colorful or cartoonish as we can imagine.

The average Tarot deck consists of seventy eight card deck of distinct and definable Arcana (twenty two of which have their own names, along with their fifty six suit cards in four divisions). It emerged from the European psyche at the beginning of the 1400s, and although there were a few experimental exceptions (the Mantegna Arcana, for example), and a few variants (decks with shortened suits, or extra royalty, or an extra set of planetary gods, graces, or zodiac signs), Tarot decks today are essentially the same in internal structure as they were when they first appeared.

The ancient art of reading Tarot was first used for entertainment, parlour games. It was only in the 18th century that tarot cards began to be used for divination purposes, with special decks being created for the occult*. Until researching for this article, I had never even heard of special decks for the occult.

Just like Numerology, Astrology and other what some might consider mystic genres, Tarot can be an avenue for understanding yourself better, finding clarity in your life and relationships,  finding inner guidance and peace, and most often, in my experience, confirmation of thoughts and feelings.  And having a Tarot Reading is just plain fun and interesting.  In fact, I seriously considered titling this page Just For Fun.

Every card in the deck, which ever deck is being used, has a specific meaning, and when combined with the meaning of the adjoining cards, they tell a story. Every Tarot Reader tends to put their personal spin on the reading which is what makes each reader interesting and unique. 

Contrary to popular belief, they are not used for seeing into the future! However, a reading can be done to help reveal potential alternatives for the future. Using the reading, you can help to avoid potential misfortune, or to align yourself more with your dreams.

Readings can be done distance or in person.  Either way, Sandra concentrates on your energy to give you the most accurate reading possible. After our session, a recording is provided to you via email.

*Note: Occult was not its first or primary use. Sandra specifically chooses to work in the light, meaning if it is not for the greater good, she doesn’t do it, or she breaks it down, transmutes it and sends it into the light.

Mediumship is the practice of mediating communication between spirits of the dead and living human beings. Practitioners are known as "mediums" or "spirit mediums".

Mediumship has evoked as many kinds of reactions from the spectrum of mainstream science as there are forms and types of this practice. At one end is the demand for more concrete proof of the validity of parapsychological phenomena such extra-sensory perception while at the other end is the basic questioning on the existence of the world of spirits, ghosts and afterlife.

This is not something Sandra chose. Sandra’s first encounter with Spirit was long before she found communication with Spirit was possible. It took years before this gift was accepted and is now used by Sandra to help her clients gain clarity, and peace. As a Medium and an Intuitive, it is not unusual for Sandra to connect with Spirit while doing a Tarot reading or during a Reiki Session.

While there are many ways Sandra gets the messages from Spirit, including:

• Clairvoyance, where the medium has visions of the spirit message. Literally meaning clear vision, this is the ability to see anything – spirits, objects, people – that is not physically present. In the context of mediumship, opinions vary as to what constitutes the exact visual image. Some clairvoyant mediums can see a spirit as though the spirit has a physical body and is present in the bodily form. Other mediums claim to see the spirit in their mind's eye and not through physical vision – as it would appear in a movie or a television program or a still picture like a photograph in their mind.
  

• Clairaudience where the medium is able to hear voices or thoughts of the spirits.

• Clairalience where the medium perceives smells of which are not caused by physical stimuli and hence construed as messages from the spirit world

• Clairsentience where the medium is able to perceive the presence or messages of spirits as a ‘feeling’. Sometimes this can take the form of a condition where medium is able to experience the ailments of a spirit, feeling the same physical problem which the spirit person had before death.

• Clairgustance where messages from the spirit world take the form of tastes of which there is no obvious physical source.

• Claircognizance which is the ability to know something without receiving it through normal or psychic senses. It is often described as a feeling of "just knowing" where the medium will claim to have the feeling that a message or situation is simply "right" or "wrong."

~There are abilities she doesn’t currently possess like Trance, Channeling and Physical Mediumship.

Mediumship and Tarot have often received a bad reputation in the movies and in real life. They are depicted as charlatans preying on the vulnerable. Like all professions, there are reputable providers and those who are just in it to make a “buck”.

Sandra cautions all clients use the information gained wisely. Mediumship and Tarot should not be the deciding factor in making life decisions. Most information gained is confirmation. What to Expect During a Tarot Reading or Mediumship Session

Tarot Readings and Mediumship are done one-on-one whether in person or online. Not withstanding, there may be personal information revealed, each energy is unique and when connecting with a specific energy, the more people around, the more chance the energy is going to get confused. So you can give your undivided attention, an MP3 recording will be emailed after the session so you can listen to the information as many times as you like. You can also record the session if you like.
